I've decided to take a little blogging break so I can concentrate on finishing the painting upstairs and get the garden ready for spring. See you soon!

First signs of spring ...
I don't think there's anything more welcome than the first signs of spring. The smallest bit of green showing in the garden is cause for celebration. For me, once the robins return spring is definitely on her way. I hope you're enjoying spring in your corner of the world!

Spring fever ...
You'll have to forgive me if I disappear for days at a time. If my posts seem rather brief, I hope you'll undersand. I seem to be suffering from spring fever and I'm afraid it might be serious. I'd rather watch the lace curtains fluttering in the breeze or listen to the robin's song. My concentration isn't what it should be right now and indecisiveness has taken over. Should I wash the windows or tidy the garden? I can't decide so I think I'll just sit here watching the breeze and listening to the robin. Spring has at last arrived!

Welcoming April ...
Would you believe that it's 15 celsius outside? If it wasn't so windy, it would be glorious! But I'm not complaining about the wind ... it's helping to dry up the melting snow. Our front yard is almost completely snow free and we're finally able to use our gate again. The back of the house gets more shade so there's still quite a lot of snow there but my husband has been shovelling it out onto the driveway to help it along.
I finished painting the beadboard in the kitchen on the weekend. The white backsplash has really helped to brighten the kitchen. The kitchen is almost finished ... I just have to replace the knobs on the cupboards and buy some new mats ... oh, and I forgot that I have some plates to hang, the message board needs repainting, and ... well, I guess I'm not almost finished!
This morning I began putting fresh shelf paper in my kitchen cupboards. I'm using a pretty blue floral on the lower shelves, which are the only ones that I can actually see. It doesn't matter that the higher shelves are just plain white. I managed to get more than half finished but a few extra arms might have made the job easier. The paper kept sticking everywhere but where I wanted it to! The corner cupboard was the worst and now that it's done the others won't seem so bad.
Happy April!
